Allegations against Spring Concert headliner resurface

Article came out the week following the 2019 Spring Concert featuring Sean Kingston who was accused of rape in 2010. The other writer and I were informed of the allegations the night of the concert and decided to look into whether or not school officials were aware of the allegations against him or the fact that other universities were canceling his performance. We asked why they decided not to inform the student body.

Article as part of our special issue about the firing of men’s basketball head coach Phil Martelli. My piece ran in the sports section and challenged the sexist comments being made against AD Jill Bodensteiner on social media for her role in Martelli’s firing. I draw on my own experience as a woman in sports.

Article about a non-profit in West Philadelphia that teaches people of all ages how to use media as a tool for storytelling. I attended a master class taught by an award winning cinematographer, Stephen Maing, toured the facility, and spoke with attendees and those who work there to get a feel for the organization.

Article about Jill Bodenstiner being appointed as new AD, making her the first female athletic director in St. Joe’s history and one of very few in DI athletics. I was one of the first reporters to speak with Bondensteiner when she arrived on Hawk Hill.
